About

Reformation Faith began because of the endurance and courage of a few people who desired to see their region have a new reformed presbyterian church. The OPC (Orthodox Presbyterian Church) Committee for Home Missions and Extension (CHMCE) as well as Redemption OPC in Gainesville had been praying for many years about planting a church in the Lake City area. They approached Tommy Peterson (a local prison chaplain) and initially gathered a group of 26 interested folks and began worshipping in June of 2025.

In October of 2025 Tommy Peterson was accepted as a member of the OPC’s Presbytery of the South. At that same meeting the Presbytery accepted a petition from the group that had been meeting to become a mission work. Rev. Peterson was appointed to be the Evangelist to lead this new work. The church plant was assigned an overseeing session to lead it, including Rev. Tommy Peterson, Rev. Joel Fick, Dr. Bill Montgomery, and Mr. John Hearn.
